The Liberal Democrats are quite willing to come up with program after program that sounds nice on the surface but have catches that aren't easy to see at first glance. Further they are also quite willing to include provisions in their programs that impose penalties on you if you don't want to do things their way.
Remember the Universal Healthcare Program that was designed by Hillary Clinton and the Democrats in 1993? It contained a provision that could send someone, and their doctor, to prison if a person decided they did not want to use the government program and instead went to their own personal doctor and obtained care from them.
In other words the Democrats are quite willing to send someone to prison if they don't do what the Democrats tell them to do.
We hear so much from the Democrats about a person's right to "choice," but as proven by their own actions, free choice is only an acceptable course of action if it fits with their own political aims.
