SAME SEX MARRIAGE

**************************************************

This is one issue where it is so easy to shoot holes in the argument that the proposal to allow same sex marriages is nothing more than a proposal to treat everyone equally.

For example, if we were to have a group of 100 people, 50 males and 50 females, and we ruled that for everyone in that group marriage would only be between a man and a woman the ruling would have been applied equally to everyone in the group.

The proposals to allow same sex marriages is not about treating everyone equally, it is about allowing exceptions based upon sexual preferences.

If this exception is allowed then a legal precedent will have been set that could be used to allow people with still different sexual preferences to marry. How about an 80 year old male pedophile who might want to marry a 12 year old girl or boy? Remember now, allowing same sex marriages is allowing marriage based upon sexual preferences, not equality of treatment.

From T.B. (San Francisco Bay Area): I personally do not care one whit what people do in their own bedrooms. However, I object greatly to homosexual people getting "married". I agreee completely with the point being made.

Besides, marriage is the union of one man and one woman. For it to be otherwise is an abomination against our country, religion, history and biology. Yes, biology -- homosexual couples cannot reproduce, now can they?

And, while I'm at it, why are we, the majority letting this minority (its estimated that only 10-13% of the population are homosexual), take over such words as "gay" and "marriage"? Even more insidious (and heinous?) is their subjugation of the RAINBOW. I mean they've taken one of the biggest symbols in the Judeo/Christian religions and perverted it for their own use (remember Noah and the Ark and God's promise not to flood the Earth again?).

Finally, why do I need to KNOW they're homosexual? I've had enough of all the rainbow flags and bumperstickers! I certainly don't go around (nor do I feel any need to) proclaiming my heterosexuality!

They're the ones who claim they're being treated differently. It is no wonder when you consider that they, themselves, are the ones constantly pointing out their differences!
